Mankato Area Youth Baseball Association

Welcome! The Board of Directors and Managers of the Mankato Area Youth Baseball Association (MAYBA) hope that the participation of you and your family in summer baseball will be a positive experience for all. MAYBA is responsible for the organization and implementation of the summer youth baseball programs in the Mankato & North Mankato area. Programs are offered for all youth ages 6 to 18 who want to play baseball, regardless of ability. MAYBA is expecting 1,200+ participants and 100+ teams for the coming summer. MAYBA is governed by a 18 member Board of Directors responsible for the rules, regulations, and direction of the programs. These programs are administered by a General Manager, Registration Manager, Umpire Manager, Fields Manager, Warehouse Manager, Equipment Manager, Travel Team Manager, and a Concessions Manager.

In-house Program

The MAYBA "In House" program consists of teams ages 5-13.  Registration runs from January to March.  Teams in the 5-9 year old ages are formed by school attended.  Ages 10-13 are formed by a coaches draft.  Teams are formed in early April with practices starting in early May.  The season ends in the 3rd week of July.

Teams will practice/play twice a week during the season.  Ages 6, 8, 10/11, 12/13 will play on Monday and Wednesday nights.  Ages 7 and 9 will play on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Travel (Royals) Program

The MAYBA "Travel" program plays under the banner of Mankato Royals and consists of teams ages 10-14.  This program also covers the VFW (15 yr olds), Jr Legion (16 yr olds) and Legion (17-18 yr olds) programs.  Registration is in January.  Teams are formed through a tryout process in February and March.

Teams in the 10-13 yr old groups practice during the week and play weekend tournaments.  The 14-18 yr old groups have league play as well as weekend tournaments.
