Players in age levels 11 andup (grades 5 andolder) may not request a specific team- mate due to our team formation format. 3 UNIFORMS Ages 6, 7, 13 & 14/15/16 All players are issued MAYBA pants, t-shirt and cap (participants keep the t-shirt and cap) Ages 8-12 All players are issued full baseball uniforms including a MAYBA cap. The MAYBA issued cap is the only cap allowed in games. If lost, a replacement may be purchased thru the coach. If UNIFORM is LOST or not returned the PLAYER will be charge for replacement of the uniform. UNIFORM RETURN POLICY: All uniforms must be returned promptly toyour head coach at the end of the season. This includes MAYBA pants provided to ages 67, 13 & 14/15/16 and pants & jerseys for all other ages. MAYBA FEE REFUND POLICY No refund of players fees will be permitted after selection of the teams for the age bracketof the player requesting a refund, unless specifically authorized by the Board of Directors. MAYBA LEAGUE RULES MAYBA, and all its leagues follow and adapt the National Federation of StateHigh School Associations (NFHS) rules. However, each age level, from ages 6 to 17/18year old leagues have approved MAYBA association modifications. The rules in thisMAYBA handbook are a summary of the most often asked questions about your leaguesgames and rules. Each season your coach is given the detailed version of the MAYBA approvedin-house league rules. If you have a specific question about a rule, talk to your coach. Iffurther explanantion is needed call your appropriate league representative. MAYBA EQUIPMENTMAYBA supplies the necessary equipment (bats, balls, helmets, tees, catcher’s equipmentetc) to play baseball. If you choose to purchase your own equipment (i.e. bat) below areMAYBA approved requirements on bats. General specifications applying to all bats: A bat shall be a smooth cylinder made of wood, aluminum, magnesium or graphite-com- posite with a knob permanently & securely fastened. Bats with a one-piece rubber griand knob combination shall be considered illegal. It shallbe the coachesresponsibilityandobligationtokeephisplayersundercontrolatalltimes. Agoodexample canteachmore thanhowtoplaybaseball. 2. The actionsof players,coaches,umpiresandleague officialsmustbe above reproach. 3. There will be no heckling of the umpires or the opposing team by anyone. Ifthe situationoccurs, the umpire shouldimmediatelygothe coacheswhowillspeak tothe fansor the playersinvolved. Ifperson(s)involvedcontinue theirunsportsmanlike behavior they will be askedto leave the ball park before playcontinues. Be a Good Sport 2008 MAYBA Photo Day The Mankato Area Youth Baseball Association along withBarnett Photography are having a one day photo session on Saturday, May 31st, 2008 for all youth participating in the baseball program. Thisphoto session will start at 8:30 am at Dakota Meadows Middle Schoolin North Mankato. All players will have a chance to be photographed individuallyand with their teams. Pre-arranged times will be given to all coachesalong with the order forms at the coaches meetings. Please bring yourcompleted order form and check made payable to Barnett Photo to thephoto session to pre-pay the photos. Please allow 2 weeks for develop- ment. The coach or team representative will be asked to pickup the pic- tures and distribute them to their players. With over 100 teams, there will be over 220 coaches in theprogram in 2008, between head coaches and assistants. The Board of Directorsand staff would like to thank all who have volunteered. MAYBA offers coaches clinics and training sessions to assist the coaches as outlined below (There isno charge for MAYBA coaches): National Youth Sports Coaches Association Coaches certification program Administered through the Community Services Department. This program is athree hour coaching information session ranging from first aid, organizing apractice, psychology of coaching kids and baseball fundamentals.
